The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! is an animated cartoon series that premiered on August 7, 2010 in Canada on Kids! WB, on September 6, 2010 in the US on PBS Kids, and also in the UK on CITV. The show is developed by Portfolio Entertainment, Collingwood O'Hare Productions, and Random House Children's Entertainment. The first season has begun and will have 40 half-hour episodes. The series is based on Random House's Beginner Book franchise, The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library.

Each episode features The Cat in the Hat (voiced by Martin Short) who leads 6-year-old neighbors Dick and Sally, the Fish, and Thing One and Thing Two on a variety of adventures in his "Thinga-ma-jigger", a Seussian contraption that can sprout wings, pontoons, booster rockets, change sizes, and do just anything else necessary to further the adventure. Similar to other PBS Kids shows like Curious George and Sid the Science Kid, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! focuses on introducing preschoolers to various science and learning concepts. The show is directed by Tony Collingwood.

  • The Cat in the Hat - An adventurous cat who knows a lot, but doesn't know everything. He loves to explore the world and act as Dick and Sally's guide, and he frequently speaks in rhyming patterns reminiscent of the Dr. Suess character on which he is based. He is voiced by Martin Short.

  • Nick - A four year old boy. He is Sally's next door neighbor and best friend; he is not the same boy seen in the book. He is voiced by Joe Alaskey.

  • Sally - A six year old girl; the same girl seen in the book. She is Nick's next door neighbor and best friend. Apparently based on the Sally from the books. She is voiced by Alexa Torrington.

  • The Fish - A moderately pessimistic fish who is loosely based on the fish character The Cat in the Hat. Unlike the fish in the book, however, he is red and appears to belong to the Cat in the Hat instead of to Sally's family; he is also much more cooperative in the Cat's adventures than the version found in the book. Voiced by Rob Tinkler.

  • Thing One and Thing Two - The Cat in the Hat's two zany, energetic helpers. Voiced by Rob Tinkler.
